The role & about the client:
ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a reputable construction firm for delivering high quality projects. This client focus on maintenance, refurbishment and fire safety. They are looking for a career driven Trainee Site Manager to join the team and progress. The candidate will be supported by management to help progress. This candidate has to be able to commute to site everyday in Southampton. This position is a temp to perm role.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support daily site activities and construction progress
- Help coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and trades
- Monitor work against project plans and schedules
- Assist in resolving on-site issues
- Help enforce health & safety regulations
- Conduct site inductions for new workers
- Assist with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Ensure proper use of PPE
- Report accidents and near misses
- Inspect work to ensure it meets drawings and specifications
- Assist with snagging and defect management
- Monitor materials for compliance with standards
- Support quality assurance documentation
- Maintain site records (daily logs, attendance, deliveries)
- Assist with progress reports
- Record delays, variations, and incidents
- Help update construction programmes
The ideal candidate will have:
- Good awareness and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Relevant tickets- CSCS needed
