Trainee Estimator – Leading Contractor

A Leading construction company are looking for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor based in Gloucestershire.
Due to continued and organic growth my award-winning client is looking for a career driven and motivated trainee.
You will be expected to assist with updating all cost control procedures as advised, working within the guidelines and procedures set out. In addition, you will be required to assist with the compilation of all reports as required. Responsible for general departmental administration.
Assist with accurate costing for each aspect of site development. Assist with compiling reports on costs and cash flows using the support systems available, as well as reports for the Division as required. This role will expect you to prepare tenders and procurement of sub-contractors as well as adapt to include any other duties requested by the Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Understand and assist with evaluation and agreement of variations and instructions for smaller trades. The trainee quantity surveyor will be expected to attend team meetings as required, as well as carry out general departmental administration, maintaining relevant filing systems and databases.
A successful trainee quantity surveyor must be able to demonstrate a methodical, conscientious, and organised approach to deliver high standards. This will be invaluable to help prepare weekly cost reports and invoices for subcontracted labour. Additionally, the role demands excellent attention to detail, ability to gather, interpret and present data to facilitate preparation of budgets and subsequent valuations.
