The role & about the client: On behalf of our client, ITS Construction Professionals South are searching for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in roofing to join their team in Bournemouth.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in the industry and a proven track record of managing and delivering roofing projects within budget and on schedule
Job description will include:
Project Cost Management:
- Prepare, manage, and control budgets for roofing projects.
- Conduct cost analysis and financial forecasts.
- Monitor project expenditures and identify variances.
Contract Management:
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare and review contract documents.
- Ensure all contracts are executed according to company policies and legal requirements.
Tendering and Estimating:
- Prepare detailed bills of quantities and pricing documents.
- Assess and evaluate tenders and proposals.
- Provide accurate cost estimates for potential projects.
Site Visits and Assessments:
- Conduct site visits to assess project progress and quality.
- Measure and value work done on-site.
- Liaise with site managers and project teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess project risks. implement strategies to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
Reporting:
- Prepare regular financial and progress reports for senior management.
- Maintain accurate records of project documentation and correspondence.
Client Liaison:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients Address client queries and provide regular updates on project status.
Essential Qualifications/ experience required/ specific requirements for the role:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- At least 4 years of experience in a quantity surveying role within the roofing industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction and roofing materials, methods, and processes
- Proficiency in relevant software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and QS software.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
