The Role & About the Client

ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Quality Assurance Manager on behalf of a well-established construction contractor delivering refurbishment, remediation and recladding works in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor working on a high-profile construction project. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Managing and overseeing quality assurance procedures across the project.
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Carrying out regular quality inspections and monitoring workmanship.
• Managing QA documentation, inspections and quality records.
• Identifying and managing defects, snags and non-conformances.
• Overseeing quality requirements relating to recladding works.
• Working closely with Site Managers, Project Managers, subcontractors and consultants.
• Reviewing inspection records and ensuring quality issues are addressed promptly.
• Maintaining accurate photographic and digital quality records.
• Supporting the successful delivery of refurbishment, remediation and recladding works.
• Ensuring works comply with relevant quality requirements.
• Assisting with client inspections, handover and close-out of works.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working as a Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Manager, QA/QC Manager or similar within the construction industry.
• Previous experience working on recladding projects.
• Experience within refurbishment or remediation projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction quality assurance procedures.
• Experience using digital QA systems.
• Good understanding of inspections, snagging, quality records and non-conformance procedures.
• Previous experience working for a main contractor or established construction contractor.
• CSCS Card (essential).
• SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).
• First Aid at Work (desirable).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage quality requirements across a live construction environment.
