The Role & About the Client
ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Quality Assurance Manager on behalf of a well-established construction contractor delivering refurbishment, remediation and recladding works in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor working on a high-profile construction project. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Managing and overseeing quality assurance procedures across the project.
- Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Carrying out regular quality inspections and monitoring workmanship.
- Managing QA documentation, inspections and quality records.
- Identifying and managing defects, snags and non-conformances.
- Overseeing quality requirements relating to recladding works.
- Working closely with Site Managers, Project Managers, subcontractors and consultants.
- Reviewing inspection records and ensuring quality issues are addressed promptly.
- Maintaining accurate photographic and digital quality records.
- Supporting the successful delivery of refurbishment, remediation and recladding works.
- Ensuring works comply with relevant quality requirements.
- Assisting with client inspections, handover and close-out of works.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working as a Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Manager, QA/QC Manager or similar within the construction industry.
- Previous experience working on recladding projects.
- Experience within refurbishment or remediation projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction quality assurance procedures.
- Experience using digital QA systems.
- Good understanding of inspections, snagging, quality records and non-conformance procedures.
- Previous experience working for a main contractor or established construction contractor.
- CSCS Card (essential).
- SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).
- First Aid at Work (desirable).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage quality requirements across a live construction environment.
