The Role & About the Client

ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager on behalf of a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a diverse range of major infrastructure and heavy civils projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor on a temp-to-perm basis, with projects ranging from incinerators and wastewater treatment plants through to reservoirs, pump stations, bridges, roundabouts and highways. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Managing civil engineering and heavy civils projects from commencement through to completion.
• Overseeing groundworks, drainage, earthworks and associated civil engineering works.
• Managing site teams, subcontractors, labour, materials and plant.
• Planning and coordinating day-to-day project activities to ensure works remain on programme.
• Monitoring project progress, costs and performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaising with clients, consultants, engineers, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Ensuring all works are completed to the required quality standards and project specifications.
• Identifying and resolving project issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements and promoting a strong safety culture.
• Maintaining accurate project records, programmes and documentation.
• Supporting the commercial performance and successful delivery of projects.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working as a Project Manager within civil engineering or heavy civils.
• Strong experience across groundworks, drainage and earthworks.
• Experience delivering major infrastructure projects such as incinerators, wastewater/sewage treatment plants, reservoirs, pump stations, bridges, roundabouts or highways.
• Degree educated in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Strong project management and leadership experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery.
• Ability to manage multiple aspects of complex projects from start to finish.
• SMSTS Certificate (essential).
• CSCS Card (essential).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
