The role & about the client:

We are recruiting on behalf of a Main Contractor for an experienced Project Planner for a large scale construction project near Hayes in West London. Our client are specialists within the data, defence and energy sectors.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 (or other scheduling software).
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and deadlines.
  • Identify critical path activities and potential delays, recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Provide regular progress reports and schedule updates to senior management and clients.
  • Conduct risk analysis and scenario planning to assess potential impacts on project timelines.
  • Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to track material and resource availability.
  • Ensure compliance with project controls, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Support claims and variations by providing detailed time-impact analysis when required.

The ideal candidate

  • Proven experience as a Project Planner in large-scale construction projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or other scheduling tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and planning principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and mitigate project risks.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Knowledge of contract management principles, particularly NEC, JCT, or FIDIC contracts (preferred).
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
