Contracts Manager – Small Works

We are working in partnership with one of the UK’s leading providers of environmental and property incident response, remediation and restoration services for insurance, commercial and public sector clients.

Due to their continued expansion, they have an immediate requirement for a Contracts Manager to join their successful team near Exeter.

The role:

In this varied role you will be responsible for managing multiple construction projects from inception through to completion. You will lead a site team to undertake building works, ground works and remediation, primarily in relation to oil spill incidents at domestic properties.

Additional responsibilities will include:

Costing scopes of work, reading and understanding structural engineers plans to write method statements and plan works to a timely manner.

Effective management of all resources associated with the projects, delivering them within budget and previously allowed timeframes.

Managing and monitoring in-house staff and sub-contractor performance, carrying out site visits, audits and snagging

Working closely with environmental consultants to deliver building works whilst ensuring remediation of properties to remove contamination from buildings and land.

Ensuring all projects are fully compliant with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental legislation, producing and recording documentation.

Liaising and developing relationships with clients and homeowners to ensure transparency in all stages of the project.

Compiling interim and final accounts ready for invoicing within agreed SLAs

About you:

You should have previous experience of working in a similar role managing projects within a construction and/or remediation environment.

Excellent people management skills with the ability to influence and coach.

Good verbal and written communication skills with clients, customers and all levels of staff.

Excellent Problem solving and analytical thinking.

Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage time to achieve high levels of productivity.

Full UK driving license.
