Quantity Surveyor
We are working with a leading housebuilder who are looking for an expereinced Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team in Bristol.
Reporting to Commercial Manager you will be expected to:
- Maintain all cost control procedures, working within the relevant guidelines.
- Be responsible for the compilation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
- Be aware of new materials and methods of construction as well as a sound knowledge of latest regulations, codes of practise and NHBC requirements.
- Be responsible for cost control procedures
- Contribute to the conceptual designs to ensure the design is kept within the budget
- Maintain budget control throughout the development and manage cost overruns within contingency levels
- Complete accurate costing for each aspect of site development
- Analyse and report on costs and cash flow
- Prepare tenders and procure sub-contractors, goods and materials
- Compile subcontractor recommendations for approval
- Process subcontract orders, payments and variations
- Evaluate and agree variations and instructions
- Attend project and team meetings as required
To be successful in the role you will be:
- Qualified to HND level or higher with a valid CSCS card
- Have a full understanding of current market conditions and rates
- Able to control cost to complete on all trades and on all provisions to ensure live cost certainly
- Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail
- Methodical, conscientious and organised
- Strong IT skills, working knowledge of computer systems within the commercial environment
- Articulate, clear and credible, and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Able to contribute towards the resolution of disputes, problems and cost issues
- Able to work on own initiative, with the drive to take ownership of projects
- Strong communication skills, the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally
- Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC and Health and Safety requirements etc.
