Multi-Trader (Kitchen Fitting)

Working with a Housing Association in their planned works team fitting kitchens

Based in Basingstoke covering properties along the M3 Corridor

Due to increased workload this housing association’s direct works team are looking to increase their inhouse workforce with an additional multi-trader who will be working on their planned kitchen fitting programme.

**You must a full UK driving licence as a company vehicle will be supplied for this role**

Key elements of the role and your responsibilities

• You will be working along the M3 corridor covering Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey
• For this role you should be able to demonstrate a core skilled trade of kitchen fitting and the ability to undertake a range of multi-trade duties including:
• Carpentry including fitting kitchen units, fitting worktops with joining strips
• Like for like plumbing (sink install, taps, and any piping work changes back to wall)
• Tiling (mainly splash backs)
• Painting and decorating
• Patch plastering and making good
• Ideally flooring experience including laying laminate floor
• Experience of working in occupied residential properties and ideally in a social housing setting
• As a Multi Skilled operative you will deliver excellent customer service and support residents with reactive repairs and maintenance across a portfolio of properties
• Your work will be split on a job to job basis over a planned route working on your own and with other trades such as company electricians
• Work closely with schedulers and planners to meet contract SLA delivery in a timely manner
• The ability to advise your supervisor on any issues or challenges that require additional support
• Complete daily work sheets detailing work undertaken and materials used after each job undertaken
• Working in a timely and productive manner

What you need to bring to the role as the successful applicant to the

• Strong carpentry, plumbing or other core trade background with the ability to carry out multi-trade works
• You should have a NVQ Level 2 or NVQ Level 3 or the ability to show that you are “time served”.
• Your own 110v power tools and hand tools
• Basic IT skills as you will be using a PDA
• SOR codes knowledge is desirable
• Extensive knowledge of maintenance repair works
• Ability to manage and carry out booked planned works in a dispersed region
• Previous experience of social housing repairs, voids, or planned works
• Adher to company health and safety guidelines
• Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
• Show strong customer service skills due to repairs taking place in occupied properties
• Tidy work ethic, making sure all adjoining work areas are kept clean and damage free

Hours and pay

• £25 – £26 per hour
• Company van supplied
• Working hours of 8am – 5pm

The advertised rates are based on working CIS but a PAYE and holiday payment method and rate can be discussed, but this will mean a slight reduction in the advertised headline rate.
