Senior Construction Manager

The role & about the client:
This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project and other round the UK. ITS Construction work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms.
As a Senior Construction Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance.
Day-to-day, you’ll ensure that the building is delivered on time, budget and quality whilst promoting onsite health and safety including inspections to ensure safety rules are being implemented in support of a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project
- Manage all the day-to-day aspects of construction and site engineering ensuring that safe systems of work are adhered to
- Manage the interfaces between the MEH partners and subcontractors to ensure building delivery
- Lead, manage and motivate the building construction team through implementation of best practice
- Ensure productivity reviews are being carried out and reports are available Review of engineering design deliverables, procedures & RAMs
- Ensure Management of Change for all Site activities are identified, justified and issued promptly via the Change Process
- Ensure the early implementation of Completions (ORBIT) with direct interfacing with Completions leads

Essential Qualifications/ experience required/ specific requirements for the role:
• Experience of operating within a highly regulated industry, preferably Nuclear
• Ideally Mechanical but electrical and HVAC also considered
• Experienced in delivering and operating within major construction projects
• Demonstrable experience relating to stakeholder management, organisation, planning, installation, quality, health and safety
• Ability to build strong relationships with employees and contractors
• Previous experience of Joint Venture Partnerships
• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent working experience
• Relevant Professional Accreditation (e.g. Project Management, Construction, Engineering) and/or equivalent working experience
• IOSH or NEBOSH
