Galliford Try supporting John Bennett Fundraising for Macmillan

As opposed to just asking for donations like most people these days, Southampton Director John Bennett has decided to volunteer his services working on site for a day. Although John doesn’t have a trade he is unafraid of a day away from the desk and this was quickly put to the test by Galliford Try who were more than happy to see what he was made of! John completed a full days graft on site, even staying on later to get the job finished.

All hours worked and signed off go directly to Macmillan and Galliford showed amazing support by more than doubling Johns hours to 20!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Galliford Try not only for their support towards this fantastic cause, but also for their continued support in using our service.

IRON MAN for MACMILLAN

Macmillan is a cause very close to Johns heart and after giving up smoking in 2009 he has taken part in a marathon every year since. Not satisfied with marathons and labouring on client sites, on September 17th 2017 John will be taking part in the Weymouth Ironman 70.3 to further raise funds and awareness. This will be a huge challenge, made more difficult by Johns love of beer, wine and food!

Ironman 70.3 is one of a series of long distance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation. The “70.3” refers to the total distance in miles covered in the race, consisting of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run. The race will bring thousands of athletes to England’s South Coast for the ultimate one-day test of endurance.

Sound tough? Well don’t worry there’s another way to help…
